The cooling rate effect during a continuously cast billet solidification on the dendritic structure features of carbon steel

The analysis of the formation process cast structure carbon steel grade ?? (???? ???? 4728:2014) after completion its crystallization with a change in wide range metal cooling rate during solidification continuously billet (??B) diameter 450 mm has been carried out. effect ??B Ø on parameters chemical heterogeneity distribution silicon and manganese microstructure shown. It determined that investigated CCB size dendritic crystals is described by inversely proportional relationship: ? = 423.75 ?-0,161. With from 106 ?? 1 °C/min, dendrites direction surface to central layers increased ~ 8 times, density decreases 65 times. In this case, nature dependence intensity heat removal opposite dendrites. established varying – one can achieve significant average while maintaining constancy volume fraction segregation areas 24% (0.42 0.50 % wt.
